New player on Sept 25, 1888 per the Davenport Daily Times.

Released when Davenport club folded October 1. The Springfield Daily Register reported on October 23 that "Burquin, late of the Davenport club, pitched for Peoria... and was batted heavily."

Harry Burquin signed with Davenport late in September, 1888, having previously played for his home town of Peoria in the Central Interstate League (of which Davenport was formerly a member) in 1888 prior to that league's collapse. He played in just five games with Davenport, all at third base, before the club shut down, and then he went back home.

In 1889, he played for Sterling, with a brief stint in Fort Madison. The next year he was with Ottawa, in the Illinois-Iowa League, where he played the full season. The following year he was signed by Green Bay. "Nig Burquin prances about short stop, picking up hot 'grounders' and 'liners'... He played at Peoria in 1888, Springfield, 1889, Ottowa [sic] 1890. He is a heavy batter and a good all-round player" (Green Bay Weekly Gazette, May 27, 1891, pg. 1). The article also described him as 5' 7 1/2" and 145 lbs. and repoted a birth date of November 3, 1865. Burquin is identified as Louis Burquin at Baseball-Reference for his time in Green Bay.

Burquin was released from Green Bay in July when new ownership took over the club and released everyone on the roster except pitcher Ben Sephens. He then went to play for Ironwood, Michigan, where he met his future wife, Rosa Martin. The two were married on January 30, 1892. According to the Michigan marriage records, Burquin was 23 years old at the time of his marriage, and he was the son of Joseph and Harriet (Wise) Burquin.

Peoria street guides in the 1880s have Harry Burquin living in Peoria with mother Harriet, widow of Joseph, as well as several siblings. These siblings include Carrie, Ernest and Ida (1885); Carrie, Emanuel, Ernest and Ida (1886); Carrie, Emanuel and Ida (1887); Albert and Emanuel (1889); and Albert and Manley (1890). While the Green Bay newspaper repoted a birth year of 1865, the 1870 Census doesn't include him at all (or, alternatively, the records identify him incorrectly as 'Manny', age 2, due to poor handwriting), while the 1880 Census puts his age at 12. The 1900 Census indicates his birthday was in July 1868. It seems most likely that he was born in 1868.

Following his stint in Ironwood and subsequent marriage, Burquin appears to have stayed in that area for a few years. In 1893, he was living in Hurley, Wisconsin, right across the border from Ironwood. By 1895, however, Burquin was playing for Evansville, Indiana, which may have been where his in-laws lived. He stayed with Evansville in 1896, and in 1897, Harry Burquin shows up in the Evansville street guide with occupation "base ball player" and wife Rosa. They remained in Evansville through 1900, when his Census record lists him as a bartender.

By 1901, Harry and Rosa were living in Princeton, Indiana, where Harry became involved in organizing the local ball club. Rosa filed for divorse in 1904, claiming he abandoned her in 1902. In 1905, he married Eliza Pearl Kendle, from Princeton, Indiana. They were living in Louisville by 1908, when the Louisville Courier-Journal reported she sued for divorce in May, alleging cruel treatment (May 8, 1910). A few months later, they reconciled; the Nashville Tennessean reported that a marriage license was issued to the two on August 28, 1910.

Harry and Eliza lived in Louisville the rest of their life. They had a daughter, Marethal, born in 1913; she was a lieutenant commander in naval intelligence during World War II. The Census records from 1920 - 1950 show Harry R. Burquin born in 1872, not 1868. He is variously born in Illinois, Pennsylvania and Michigan. Harry died in January, 1958. His death certificate lists a date of birth as July 10, 1873, but his Social Security claim lists a birth date of July 10, 1870. Eliza was born in 1886; it is possible that he told her a later birth year when they met. Eliza died in 1974. Both are burried in Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville.
