The Evening Kansan (Newton) reported on July 3 that Pranter and Blanchard signed with Sioux City.

Last game with Sioux City on July 18; played for Salt Lake City with Bader on July 24.

Charles Blanchard was born on May 3, 1865 in Jamestown, New York. By 1880 his family was living in Pennsylvania, and by the time he was 21, he was making a name for himself playing for the club in St. Mary, Kansas. In 1886 he made his professional debut playing one game for Topeka in the Western League, on August 14, 1886 against Denver. His catcher was Jake Kenyon, who played for the St. Louis Whites in 1888. In November 1886 he signed with Wichita for the 1887 season, but it doesn't seem like he played for the club. In 1888, he started the season playing for the Newton club in the Western League.

At the end of June, when Sioux City replaced St. Louis in the Western Association, Blanchard and Fred Panter joined Sioux City from Newton. Blanchard played 10 games for Sioux City, the last one on July 18. A week or so later, it was reported that he and Herman Bader would be joining the club in Salt Lake City. Blanchard appeared in his first game for them on July 24, 1888.

There is no obvious record for Blanchard after 1888. He returned to Kansas, married and raised a family with his wife Eva. He died of a heart attack in his corn field on November 25, 1939 at the age of 74.
